Sidewalk Saturday’s First Resident Artist
Gabby is an illustrator and graphic designer who merges color, texture and form in her mid-century and Scandinavian modern inspired art. Gabby has been a vendor with Sidewalk Saturday since early 2021 where she represents her booth, Gaby Art & Design, which “was born out of a love for minimalistic art and timeless design, with the goal of creating both thoughtful and functional pieces.”
We love Gabby’s style, not just for the artistic value but her attention to sustainability throughout all her business practices. She carefully considers her impact on the environment with all her creations, from sourcing and shipping to manufacturing and packaging. Everything is made in the United States and most of the products she leverages are locally sourced in Arizona from her peers. She uses recycled and FSC certified papers, and she packages everything with 100% recyclable bakker board inside a compostable clear sleeve. We could go on, but the alignment is evident.
In 2022, we invited Gabby to be our resident artist at Sidewalk Saturday, offering creative freedom to reimagine the Sidewalk Saturday brand. She was our first Resident Artist to pre-launch this program, and she was able to incorporate her signature style and recreate some brand elements that we ran with all season long.
